"If a tree falls in the woods.... be there to hear it"
Join us for a Hike up Cowles Mountain!
Meet at the parking lot at 9 am for a quick bite before we head out together.
We'll be checking out the dam around Kumeyaay Lake - Great photo spots!
It's an easy non-challenging walk around the lake for the inexperienced yet beautiful and enjoyable for the advance hiker =)
For those that wish, there is easy access to more challenging trails as well.
The park is dog friendly!
Be sure to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring along water. A hat and sunscreen are also recommended.
Note: There are different access points to the park.
We shall be meeting at the Kumeyaay parking lot (by the Junipero Serra Trail and Bushi Hill Dr Intersection)
Directions:
From Interstate 8 – Take Interstate 8 to the Mission Gorge Road/Fairmount Avenue exit. Turn north onto Mission Gorge Road and proceed for 8.2 miles. You will pass the first entrance to the park on the left, proceed along Mission Gorge. Look for the large wooden Mission Trails Regional Park sign on the left side of the road, and turn left onto the SECOND Father Junipero Serra Trail.
