Gussie Zaks' Story:
At age 13, in 1939, Gussie and her family were taken from their home in Poland by the Nazis. Over the next five years, she was moved to six different camps, forced to walk for weeks, and was left alone after her parents and six siblings were killed by the Nazis in the Treblinka death camp in Poland, she said.
Gussie speaks at various schools, events, and adult education programs. Her memories are vividly recalled and mesmerizing as she tells her story of hate, prejudice and finally hope.
